Roughcasting Services for Improved Property Appearance, Weather Protection Insulation

QUALITY SERVICE, QUALITY MATERIALS

The harshest of Scottish winters can take its toll on the exterior of your property. Applying roughcasting is a great way of preserving the integrity of your property, ensuring that it remains watertight for years to come. Because of its importance, you’ll want to know that your roughcasting has been applied professionally. At GM Property Maintenance Ltd we specialise in the preparation and professional application of a range of roughcasting and rendering products – we use only high quality materials for attractive and durable results. For a free quote on our range of roughcasting and external rendering services, get in touch with our team today. We serve Lanarkshire, Glasgow, and the surrounding areas.
Wet dash
Wet dash is more common in the more exposed areas of Scotland.
It consists of three parts sand, one part cement, and one part small, sharp gravel.
This mixture is then applied as a thick layer to your property’s external walls
Dry dash
Slightly more decorative than wet dash, dry dash is a good render for properties with some protection from the elements, such as hills or in built up areas.
Dry dash is a mixture of pre-washed and screened dashing aggregate – available in a range of sizes, blended with a specially formulated, coloured polymer-enriched mortar cement.
External rendering
External render can be applied to any home and is usually just a mix of sand and cement.
The team at Ollie Roofing & Building Contractors Ltd can apply external render to your property with either a smooth or patterned finish.
Once applied and dried, this surface sets hard and can be painted with masonry paint.

Roughcasting repairs
As with all masonry that is exposed to the elements, roughcasting isn’t invincible and over time it may crack or chip.

Cracks and chips in roughcasting are usually a result of water getting into smaller defects, freezing and then expanding. Our team can carry out roughcasting repairs before they escalate.
